Oral Hygiene – Preventive Care

All Saints Dental Group prides itself on being a preventive practice.
We have our two wonderful Hygienists to run our comprehensive Oral Hygiene Program. They are especially trained to assist and educate all age groups in Preventive Care Techniques. Your oral hygiene is fundamental to your oral health and therefore is our primary focus. Prevention is better than cure!

Did you know the health of your mouth and gums mirrors the health of your body as a whole?

If you don’t adequately care for your teeth and gums, poor oral hygiene can lead to infection and disease, which, left untreated, can contribute to the development of other health issues.

A thorough oral hygiene routine focuses on systematically removing the bacteria from your teeth and gums helping to maintain good oral health. Failing to maintain clean tooth surfaces and gums can lead to a deterioration of oral health which in turn, can lead to gum disease and tooth decay.

The following preventative actions should be included in a thorough oral hygiene routine:

  • Brushing twice daily
  • Flossing daily
  • Six monthly preventive care appointments with your dental hygienist, including:
    • an examination to identify dental issues before they escalate (With the Dentist).
    • a professional removal of the calcified plaque
    • continuing education to ensure good techniques in brushing and flossing

At All Saints Dental Group, we want to work with you, our patient, to achieve a lifetime of oral health. Call our friendly team to make your next preventive care appointment.

Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner
